The Coolwater is a mountain side estate that
overlooks the quiet and quaint Thai village of Kamala on Phuket's west
coast. The beach at Kamala is wide, gently sloping, and relatively
peaceful year round, the water is clear and warm, and the surf is
typically gentle - it's a perfect place for swimming and relaxing. In
the green season some good surf can be found on the northern end where
tourists and an ever growing contingent of locals enjoy the warm summer
waves.
A large number of banks, general stores, handicrafts, restaurants
and bars can all be found in Kamala village as it has recently become a
part of the island now inhabited by many western visitors and residents
alike.
Each of The Coolwater's modern-designed hilltop residences enjoys
the privacy of its own infinity-edged swimming pool. Elevated sand
washed platforms surround the exterior passageways and decks that
overlook either the Andaman Sea or Kamala’s towering jungle peaks
depending on the villas positioning.
The villas are strikingly designed and fashioned from aluminum,
steel and whitewashed concrete are set amongst lush, tropical gardens.
The finishes are unashamedly modern, with many of the floor-to-ceiling
windows doubling as sliding doors, letting in both the stunning
tropical scenery and the cooling breezes that constantly whisper
through the estate. Your view over the valley below is of swaying
treetops, village scenes, and the sparkling Bay of Kamala. The setting
is serene and the houses are stylish, with all the comforts of a home.
The six privately owned villas average well over 400 to 500 square
meters, and each comes complete with either three to four bedrooms
layouts. All villas have well-appointed western kitchens, luxurious
bathrooms, a custom designed infinity edge pool, and a comfortable
living/dining room. There is individually controlled air conditioning
throughout.
The semi-detached wings of each Residence enfold a central deck area
with the swimming pool as the central focus. This creates a very
private space while maximizing views. Large external roof overhangs
provide shelter and shade.
All homes are fully furnished and appointed at a high standard to
include linens, cutlery, crockery and glassware. The homes have been
decorated to a high standard and include a minimum of Satellite TV, and
CD/DVD/VCD facilities.
The service is provided by the on site Villa Manager and her team of
maids, gardeners and pool cleaners trained to luxury standard while
being very discreet in order to preserve the guests quality time. It is
possible to hire a Thai Chef on request and availability to either
prepare an array of Thailand culinary heritage or a more laid back
seafood BBQ.
Due to its location, number of bedroom and layout, The Coolwater
makes an ideal alternative choice for a small family week end break, a
larger group of friend or extended family attending an event (wedding,
birthday, …) or even an executive retreat.

Brief introduction to the villas

Baan Sairung has a broad view over the Andaman
sea to the west and north. From its infinity pool, swimmers peers
through the treetops to the valley below. Its broad timber deck is the
perfect place for a sunset barbeque or a sunset drink.
Baan Sairung has three bedrooms, each with a luxurious en-suite
bathrooms (one of the bedrooms is under the pool and has a large
skylight looking right up through the shallow end). The master bedroom
overlooks the pool and the dense tropical forest below. There is also a
dedicated maid’s room and a large downstairs “rumpus room” which may
serve as a fourth bedroom. |
The master bathroom boasts a giant, built-in, open-air bathtub, as well as a quiet office nook overlooking the jungle.
The elegant kitchen boasts stainless steel appliances and black
granite countertops. Other amenities include all custom-built
furniture, hardwood floors, a DVD player, and two satellite TVs (each
with its own receiver). Finally, the spacious indoor living and outdoor
decks and patios provide an ideal combination for a tropical lifestyle
holiday.

Villa 2 - Baan Erawan |

Baan Erawan
occupies the highest point on the estate and provides stunning views
over the Kamala valley. The infinity edge pool wraps around one of the
pavilions and welcomes you as you arrive through the “floating”
stepping-stones towards the poolside deck and garden lawn.
The living and dining room, as well as the timber deck boasts views
of the ocean to the West and of Pak Bang Mountain to the South, while
the deck offers an ideal setting to enjoy a romantic alfresco dinner or
sundowner drink. Other area of the villa offer appeasing views of the
deep forest nearby. |
Furnished in a contemporary style with Asian
accents, and original artwork thoughtfully lit with flexible controls,
it's the ideal place to unwind. We recommend you to try and connect
your iPod to the villa's wireless music system, listen to the large
track library or curl up and enjoy a DVD on the large LCD screen, only
then you can agree! Like all villas at The Coolwater, Baan Erawan is
equipped with a fully fitted kitchen with black granite surfaces and
stainless steel appliances and is complemented by an outdoor Thai
kitchen, ideal to practice your Thai cooking skills, while looking over
the pool to the jungle again.
Baan Erawan has three bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom, plus a
maid's room. The slate floored master bedroom faces West towards the
ocean as does the quite study area while the large private master
bathtub with elevated garden allows a clear view of the tropical sky.
The other bedrooms are spacious, one of which has a rather design
shower!

Baan Salawin
is the most imposing house on the Estate, and its ocean view is simply
amazing. The views are simply stunning from the pool, from the poolside
patio, indeed from any room in this house: you look over the valley and
the rooftops of the quaint village of Kamala, right at the sunset, with
the Andaman sea glittering to the west.
Baan Salawin has three bedrooms: each has either a balcony or a
patio, each with a sweeping view. The master bathroom also has a huge
soaking tub. |

newest of all the Coolwater villas, Baan Sii continues in the theme of
white-washed walls, but includes a unique interior design and the
largest swimming pool of the cluster. While not semi-detached like
other villas, this home-like residence provides uniquely separate
living and sleeping spaces for adults and for children. |
Split level living again sees bedrooms
upstairs and down, with a lounge room and open plan living area
featuring floor-to-ceiling sliding doors that offer views of the pool
and the surrounding jungle landscape. Thai art and decorations adorn
all rooms and complete this villa’s modern feel. |

Baan Mayom
is the most secluded and with dramatic views at The Coolwater. Situated
at the southeast extremity of the Estate, Baan Mayom soars out of the
jungle. Its swimming pool and deck, some 12 meters above the forest
floor, literally form part of the jungle canopy.
From the
master bedroom, kitchen, and living and dining room of the villa, you
look down at swaying treetops, and up at the towering mountain at the
back of Kamala valley. |
The two guest bedrooms give a sense of quiet
seclusion, like you’ve entered your own private leafy sanctuary. Each
guest bedroom has a dedicated balcony suspended among the trunks of
exotic tropical trees. The master bedroom is complemented by a
stunning, sweeping panorama of a lush island peak. Off the master
bedroom is an open-air bath and shower paneled in warm sandstone, and a
cozy reading room/office space cantilevered over the forest.
