World F1 champion Kimi Raikkonen has become the latest in a string of sports stars to buy into a Thai resort development.
The
Finnish Ferrari driver has revealed that he has invested in luxurious
beachfront unit on Thailand´s largest and most popular island, Phuket.
The Swiss-based star is believed to have paid an estimated US$1.5m for
a private villa in the sought after Serrenity Terraces – a residential
development in the up-and-coming Rawai area.
The driver joins
big names such as Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole and Manchester City
manager Sven Goran Eriksson, who have also bought properties in the
Kingdom.
“I am delighted with this unique opportunity to own a
secured private waterfront residence in Phuket. When representatives of
the Serenity team presented this project, I was immediately impressed
by the location, its design, and the strong team behind the
development— always a key decision factor,” said the Finn. He
continued, “I am really looking forward to enjoying the rare vacations
away from the track, in this hide-away beachfront community.”
Ramesh
K. Hamal, director of Green Heritage Group added, “To have a
high-profile sports personality such as Kimi investing in this project
is not only good news for Serenity Terraces, but also for Phuket’s
increasingly luxurious profile among discerning international buyers
looking for the best private residences and lifestyle.”
